About the Career Management Engine
Built so capable people don't get filtered out.
The hiring market changed faster than the tools people use to navigate it. More than nine in ten employers now screen applications automatically, and candidates face record competition — around 140 applications for every graduate vacancy. Capable people with non-standard paths get cut before a human reads a word.
The Career Management Engine exists to close that gap. It turns real experience into applications that clear the first-line screen — without gaming the system, and without giving up your privacy.
Why we built it.
Automated screening rewards clean keyword matches and tidy career ladders. That quietly penalises the people who most deserve a look: career changers, the recently redundant, bootcamp graduates, anyone re-skilling after AI disruption. We built the Career Management Engine to translate that real experience into the specific language a given role is screening for — so the application survives the filter and reaches a human.
Not everyone is trying to get in
Not everyone's problem is landing a role — some of the people who need CME most already gave decades to public service and now need their federal experience to read as private-sector achievement, not a list of duties. We built a dedicated Federal Transition Track for exactly that translation — the counterpart to our Federal Full Track, which helps people go the other way, into USAJOBS.
Intelligence, not templates
A CME report is an intelligence report built around one role, not a reformatted CV. That's also why we score Authenticity Risk: tools that let an AI write the whole application produce work that reads as machine-made and gets discarded. We map your genuine experience to the role and flag anything that would ring false — because your reputation matters more than a keyword count.
What we score
Authenticity Risk
A flag on anything that would read as machine-written to a human reviewer — the opposite of what a template-fill tool optimises for.
How we know it holds up
Scoring is deterministic and evidence-based — the same inputs give the same result — and it runs on Claude, not a commodity model. That rigour reflects a background spanning SRI International and Innovate UK: research-led, tested, and built to stand up to scrutiny.
Where it's going
Tailoring is the first step. The Career Management Engine is a connected suite — job-impact analysis, path planning, role matching and application tailoring — designed to support a whole transition, not just a single application.
